If you are using HyperCard 2.0 or higher you are not going to be able to write in this journal until you ‚ÄúConvert it.‚Äù  It  is not a religious experience that I am referring to, but a new improved HyperCard file structure. Choose  ‚ÄúConvert‚Äù from under the file menu. Do not ‚ÄúConvert‚Äù Imitatio Christi or Not Passing History.  The library, Passing Notes, Meat and Conversation and Haiku Master will also need to be ‚ÄúConverted.‚Äù
